The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced that it will be holding public Webinars regarding the recent amendments to the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer Program (STTR) Policy Directives.

These amendments implement provisions of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012. The Defense Authorization Act contained the SBIR/STTR Reauthorization Act of 2011 (Reauthorization Act), which made several key changes to the programs relating to eligibility, the SBIR award process, program administration, fraud, waste and abuse.

The Webinars will be conducted by SBA's Office of Investment and Innovation.

Rocky Hill, Conn., July 27, 2012 – Nearly 500 attendees gathered to explore research and commercial partnerships at the three-day SBIR & Global Trade Summit, which concluded yesterday at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn. The summit, hosted by Connecticut Innovations (CI), offered attendees from the national technology community the opportunity to learn about the $2+ billion in federal research and development grants available to small businesses through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program; explore partnering opportunities with global corporations, federal agencies and universities; and learn the basics of exporting.
